We'd like to introduce you to Mr Michael Holden, our new Operations Manager to head our team at Hillthwaite.
In Michael's own words
''Well the weather might not be wonderful, the credit crunch might have hit, but I am not letting it get me down. As the new Operations Manager of Hillthwaite House Hotel, I am looking happy and forward to the challenges created by running such a wonderful hotel as Hillthwaite.
The hotel has an excellent reputation with its many regular guests, who return year after year for the excellent food and service, not to mention the friendly, unstuffy atmosphere.
Coming from The Derwentwater Hotel, which has a similar style to its food and service, I could not resist when I saw the advert for Hillthwaite. I tried 10 years ago to obtain employment at Hillthwaite only to be pipped at the post by Geoff, but here I am 10 years later, with the hotel and the position. 10 years is a long time to wait for a job, but it was worth it.
I hope to maintain, and hopefully add, to the excellent standards set by Geoff and the Sodeau family who are quite rightly proud of their hotel, after owning and running it for over 37 years.
Hopefully my years of experience at The Savoy, The Lanesborough and aboard The QE2 will help me bring a few new ideas to this renowned hotel.
When I do eventually get any time off, I will seek a local Amateur Dramatics Group, who are in need of a slightly overweight, under tall, aging base/baritone, or even further my passion for English wines and British cheeses.
I look forward to welcoming you to Hillthwaite House in the not too distant future.''
Yours
Michael Holden
